21 Days/20 Nights Package: Volunteer at an Orphanage- Climbing Mt. Kenya- Masai Mara Game Reserve and L.Nakuru National Park
Day 1:
Airport pick up and transfer to our Nairobi Hotel on full board.
Day 2:
Orientation within Nairobi City visiting Giraffe Center and David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage then after lunch transfer to project location.
Day 3:
Volunteers will be introduced to the orphans, staff, and the host family then start work with children.
Day 4- 9:
Work with children. Share your love and talents with these orphaned children. Volunteers are free to explore the surrounding areas when not working. Enjoy the wonders of this truly beautiful land. Feel free to explore the nature, culture, and life of Kenya in your free time. Our local field staff will support you with any assistance that you may need.
Day 9:
End volunteer work. Farewell to the kids and evaluation of the program.
DAY 10:Nairobi-Nanyuki (SIRIMON-CHOGORIA ROUTE)
Transfer from Nairobi is at 09:00 hrs to Nanyuki .A COMPLIMENTARY walking tour to the EQUATOR. dinner and overnight at Simbas lodge.
Day 11: Sirimon Gate to Judmaier camp
After Breakfast drive to Sirimon Park gate and trek for 3 – 4 hours to Old Moses Camp (Judmeier) through a beautiful forest with East African Pencil Cedar trees, Poducarpus trees and the giant Hygenia trees. From Judmeier camp you can see the summits of Batian andNelion peaks: 9kms
Day 12 :Old Moses (Judmaier) camp to Shiptons camp
This is about a 6 – 8 hour hike crossing Liki and Mackinders valleys, there is a great view of Tereri and Sendeo peaks. And also a great view of Nanyuki town and beautiful terrain. Shipton’s camp has also an excellent setting with the north faces of Nelion peak and Batian peak. 13kms
Day 13: Shipton’s camp to Point Lenana and then descend to Mintos Camp (Halls Tarns camp).
This hike is about 4 and half hours hike through some of the most spectacular sceneries like Gorges valley the Halls Tarns and the Lake Elies at a far distance. Overnight at Mintos Campisite.
Day 14: Mintos (Halls tarns camp) to Meru Mt.Kenya Lodge (Bandas)
This hike is anywhere between 4 – 6 hours. This area has spectacular views down into the Gorges valley with Lake Michaelson and Vivienne falls, and across on the other side you can see Ithanguni peak, Rotundu peaks and the Giant Flat — top Kilingo hill table. 18kms
Day 15: Chogoria gate to Chogoria town
About 6 – 8 hours, on dirt roads through a thick bamboo forest and tropical forest. The
forest is really beautiful with chances of seeing wildlife and Columbus monkeys. Transfer to Nairobi arriving late afternoon.32kms or walk half way to take 4×4.
Days 16: Maasai Mara
Leave for Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the Maasai Mara Great Rift Valley reserve is the seasonal home to literary thousands upon thousands of wild animals. It is also the seasonal home to thousands of wildebeests that spend about half of the year here and the other half in neighboring Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
Day 17: Game Viewing Maasai Mara
Have game viewing across the rich, tree-studded grasslands and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game, including some of the largest lion prides in Africa, as well as leopard and cheetah. It also has numerous elephants, rhinos, giraffes, African buffalo, zebras, elan, gazelles, and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.
Day 18: Maasai Mara.-Lake Nakuru
Depart from Maasai Mara Game Reserve to Lake Nakuru National Park to arrive in time for lunch. It is the perfect place to experience one of the world’s largest ornithological spectacles, The Pink Flamingo, or a rich concentration of wildlife including black and white colobus monkey and is also a famed Rhino Sanctuary. In the afternoon proceed on a game drive in this famous ornithological spectacle for flamingoes. Nakuru offers over 400 bird species
Day 19: Lake Nakuru to Nairobi,
Early morning game viewing, drive back to Nairobi to arrive in the afternoon where the tour ends,
Day 20-21 Nairobi City Tour
Explore Nairobi Town (Maasai market) as you buy jewelries, gifts and doing shopping as you take your flight back home .
